Her Journey in Samba

Patricia has been training in samba no pé since 2022 and continues to refine her skills exclusively under the guidance of Brazilian master teachers and highly experienced, respected native Brazilian instructors. This ongoing dedication and experience allows her to bring both strong technical ability and a deep cultural appreciation to every class. Her training provides an authentic foundation rooted in the traditions and rhythms of Brazil.

Recognizing the lack of diversity in leadership within Toronto's samba community, Patricia became one of the first voices to intentionally bring the Black roots of samba into the conversation, helping spark meaningful dialogue about its Afro-Brazilian history and cultural foundations. Since then, Patricia has witnessed encouraging progress toward greater awareness, representation, and inclusion. Patricia's goal has always been simple: to honor the history of samba, be a visible example of diversity and inclusion, provide equitable opportunities for samba training, and help establish merit-based opportunities rooted in skill, passion, and dedication in Toronto.

Patricia’s approach focuses on building confidence, musicality, and solid fundamentals, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique. She is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students can grow, express themselves, and connect with the vibrant energy of samba.

Through structured instruction and a deep respect for the art form, Patricia empowers each student to develop their own unique style while remaining grounded in authentic samba no pé technique, musicality, and cultural understanding.
